Pike County Hillbilly Trails System - Dorton/Flatwoods Area Trailhead

Pike County KY - America’s Energy Capital, Hatfield-McCoy Feud territory, and now, finally, developing what will be one of the more spectacular OHV trail systems on the East Coast. Due to the spread of trails, this post will be specific to the Dorton/Flatwoods side of the trail system.

• Permits: Permits are available at HillbillyTrails.com for Out Of State Residents only, out of state permits are $50. Kentucky residents must purchase permits at a Local Retailer listed on the website. Kentucky residents outside of Pike County are $25. Pike County resident permits are $10

  Trailhead Location:

  • Dorton/Flatwoods Trailhead - 37.285917, -82.554009

    • On Google Maps, this is accessible from “Flatwoods Access Rd” just off US-23

• The trails are open to full size rigs, ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. There is some singletrack already built, though mileage is minimal at this time.
